Vs. Children by Casiotone for the Painfully Alone

April 15, 2009

This is more of my favorite new album. As described on Amazon, the album diverges from his tiny casiotones and little beats and goes with more of your standard keys, but I think that singer/songwriter has really progressed and shown himself to be more than just a contrivance and concept.

He has progressed as both a songwriter and a singer. His voice is more mature and, well, sexy, and less awkward and shy.

I am not sure how painfully alone Owen is anymore, but he’s clearly been listening to a lot of music. I hear tinges of Tindersticks and Jens Lekmans but I truly think it’s original.

For a pop band.

From a pop fan.

Sorry it’s been so long since my last post. I’ve been trying to write a novel and do other stuff like survive in this economy, mentally and physically.
